A layout drawing and recreated cel from the Disney Studios animated film "The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea" (2000). Featuring Ariel hovering over Prince Eric and his ship, the layout drawing was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The backgrounds and drawings from the film are the only pieces of production art that exist, as the moving character imagery was colored by computer. The studio prepared the layout drawing for sale by pairing it with a hand-painted cel recreated using original imagery from the film, and traditional animation techniques. Measuring 13.5"x17" overall, with the layout image measuring 13.5"x12.5" and the character image measuring 8.5"x7", the piece is in very good condition with light edge and corner wear, light surface marks, and minor discoloration to the drawing. The piece was originally prepared for sale by the studio's art program and comes with the studio COA.
